The last remaining workshop of the Werkspoor factory in Utrecht is impressive for its size and echo. The deafening noises of work have long faded and only the overhead crab cranes are silent reminders of the bridges and trains, that were produced here. For the performance Klank – an Oral History of Sound former employees described the noises of labor (welding, riveting, pounding, etc.) using onomatopoeias, which were then brought together into a composition. Klank can be performed by one or more performers and a loop station.
